You have probably seen reports regarding the recent flooding in Victoria. Although we have had significant rain especially at Boort in the past few days (125mm) it has only caused local flooding as the majority of the rainfall fell in North Eastern Victoria which is to the east of our groves. We are not expecting major damage to the crop or trees but we have had some fruit drop from the very heavy rain and extremely windy conditions. Our biggest risk of loss from this rain event is from fungal disease caused by wet and humid conditions. Fortunately we were up-to-date with preventative sprays and are already back on the groves at Boundary Bend and Wemen spraying. The groves at Boort will be sprayed as soon as they dry out enough to become traffic-able.
