Cobram Estate Caps Off Stellar Year In The Field

MELBOURNE October 10, 2013 – On Monday night, Cobram Estate walked away with eight awards at the 2013 Australian Olive Association (AOA) National Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition held in Hobart, Tasmania narrowly missing Best in Show for its Cobram Estate Classic Ultra-Premium Hojiblanca and winning Gold and a Best in Class Trophy for its Cobram Estate Premiere Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

For the first time in the show’s 17-year history the panel of judges could not split the two top Best in Show oils with the winner decided by the Chairman’s Call. The casting vote went to Grassy Spur Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

The National Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition is seen as the most prestigious olive oil competition in Australia and 2013 saw a record number of Gold Medals awarded.
